1xBet App Review: Android APK, iOS & 1xWin Tested
We downloaded the APK ourselves, pulled the permission list off the device, and used the 1xBet app across a Samsung Galaxy S24 and an iPhone 15 over several months before writing this.
The short version: the 1xBet app carries more functionality than any betting app we've tested for this market. Four live streams on one screen, a bet constructor that builds custom markets inside a single fixture, edit-bet on slips you've already placed, and one-tap live betting. The Android build is 48.2 MB, which is lighter than most competitors'.
One thing to know before you start, and it isn't in most guides.
The 1xBet app is not in the Malaysian App Store. We searched from a Malaysian connection in September 2026, and it didn't appear. Guides that walk you through an App Store search are describing a different country. On iPhone, the route that works is the PWA, and we've written it up in full below.
Three other findings from our own device:
The Android APK is 48.2 MB. We watched the file download and captured it mid-transfer. Figures elsewhere range from 50 MB to 78 MB, likely due to regional builds rather than to anyone being wrong.
The app requests 39 permissions. We pulled the full list off our test device, sorted it, and published it below with what each one is actually for. As far as we can tell, nobody else covering this app has done that.
We got the update behavior wrong in an earlier version of this review, and the permission list is what told us. The correction is in its own section, because it matters more than most of what's on this page.
Android: download the APK from 1xBet directly. Google Play doesn't carry betting apps in Malaysia, so this is the only route.
iOS: Install the PWA through Safari. Walkthrough below.
Windows: 1xWin is a desktop program with a normal installer, not an APK.

The Google Play Store doesn't allow real-money betting apps in Malaysia, so the APK from 1xBet's own site is the only legitimate route. That makes your download source the single most important decision on this page.

Two things in that table deserve a note.
The gap between 48.2 MB and 200 MB is normal, and it catches people out. Android extracts the APK package during installation, which needs temporary space of its own, and then the app starts caching live scores, match graphics, and odds data. That cache grows the more you use it. Anyone freeing up exactly 50 MB before installing will run out partway through.
Older Android phones aren't locked out entirely. Current builds want Android 7.0 or higher, but the older v251.0.505 release runs on Android 5.0. If you're on a device that predates 2016, that's the version to look for, though you'd be running without whatever has been fixed since.
Enabling "Install Unknown Apps" Without Leaving Yourself Exposed
Android blocks sideloaded installs by default, and the safe pattern is narrow and temporary:
- Download the APK first, then tap the file.
- Android offers to open settings for the browser you downloaded through. Grant permission to that one app only.
- Install.
- Go back and switch the permission off again.
Leaving sideloading enabled across the whole system is what turns a malicious APK into a problem six months later. Granting it to one browser for half a minute doesn't.
Expect a Google Play Protect warning during installation. It fires for anything Google hasn't scanned through the Play Store, which covers every betting app in this market, so it's describing the distribution route rather than 1xBet specifically. What it really means is that nobody is vetting the file on your behalf, so the domain you downloaded from carries all the weight.
The 39 Permissions the 1xBet App Requests
We pulled the full permission list off our test device. This is the section we'd most want you to read, because it's the part of a sideloaded app nobody publishes, and it's the part that tells you what the software can actually reach.
Thirty-nine is a lot. It's also fairly typical for an app doing this much: identity verification, live video, push notifications, geolocation compliance, and payment scanning all require their own permissions. The number on its own isn't alarming. What matters is which ones, and whether each has a reason.
Permissions you'll be prompted for
These are what Android calls runtime permissions, meaning the system asks you directly rather than granting them at install. You'll see the prompt either at startup or the first time a feature needs one, and you can decline most of them.

Contacts and microphone are the two we'd decline. Neither is needed for betting, and both can be switched back on later if you find a feature that wants them. Location has to stay on. It isn't optional in a licensed gambling app, and declining it will stop bets from being accepted.

"Display over other apps" is worth understanding. It's what powers picture-in-picture streaming, which is one of the app's better features. It also means the app can draw on top of whatever else you're doing. That's a legitimate use here, but it's a permission worth knowing you granted.
How to Revoke Permissions You Don't Want
On Android 6.0 and above, you can turn most of these off at any time without breaking the app:
- Open Settings → Apps → 1xBet
- Tap Permissions
- Toggle off anything you'd rather not share
Location and internet have to stay on. Location is a regulatory requirement rather than a convenience feature, and the app can't process bets legally without it. Everything else is negotiable, and the app will prompt you again if you later use a feature that requires it.
Correction: The 1xBet App Does Update Itself
An earlier version of this page said the Android app had no updater and that every update meant a manual reinstall from the download page. That was wrong, and pulling the permission list is what showed us.
REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES is in the list. An app can only declare that permission if it's built to download and install its own updates, which is precisely what 1xBet does.
How it actually works on the direct APK:
When a new version ships, opening the app triggers an on-screen prompt saying a new version of 1xBet is available. Tapping Update downloads the patch in the background. Android then requires you to confirm the installation, a standard security step for any APK and not something 1xBet can bypass.
So it isn't fully silent, but it isn't a manual reinstall either. You'll be told, and you won't need to go back to a download page.
Where Google Play carries the app, updates install completely automatically in the background according to your device's Play Store settings. That route isn't available in Malaysia. We checked, and the Play Store doesn't list it here.
Why we're leaving the correction visible rather than quietly editing. Our earlier claim was reasonable on the evidence we had: an app with no visible update control in its settings menu. It was still wrong, and the fix came from doing the work we'd said we hadn't done yet. If a review never shows its own corrections, either it isn't checking or it isn't telling you.
What this doesn't change: you still need to obtain the original APK from the correct source. The updater only helps once you've installed a verified copy.
The 1xBet iOS App in Malaysia: What We Actually Found
Almost every guide covering the 1xBet app for iPhone says the same thing. Open the App Store, search "1xBet", download. Several then add a line telling you to make sure you've found the right one, which is a hedge that should make you suspicious of the instruction it's attached to.
We looked. On a Malaysian connection in September 2026, the 1xBet app did not come up in the App Store.
That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There's a listing published by 1XCorp N.V. that appears in some regions. But App Store availability for gambling apps is set on a country-by-country basis, and Malaysia isn't one where we could find them.
Two things follow, and the second is the one that matters.
Searching an app store for something that isn't there is how people end up installing the wrong thing. When the real listing is absent, whatever does surface for the query fills the space. That's the mechanism behind most fake-app installs, and it's why "double-check you found the right one" is worse than unhelpful. It hands the reader a job they have no way to do.
We won't tell you to change your Apple ID region. It's the workaround you'll see recommended elsewhere. It breaks your existing purchases, subscriptions, and payment methods, and it puts your Apple account in a state Apple can act on. Rearranging your entire Apple ID for one betting app is a bad trade in any direction.
The route that works today is the PWA, and it's a decent alternative. Details next.

Installing the 1xBet PWA on iPhone & iPad
A PWA is a full-screen shortcut that opens 1xBet with the browser interface hidden. Apple supports it natively in Safari, and it takes no storage space.
1xBet publishes its own PWA walkthrough: wait for the site to load, tap Share, select "Add to home screen", then confirm with Add.
How to install the 1xBet PWA:
- Open the official 1xBet site in Safari. iPhone requires Safari specifically, since Chrome on iOS doesn't offer this.
- Wait for the page to finish loading, then tap the Share icon.
- Select "Add to Home Screen".
- Tap "Add" in the top-right corner to confirm.
- Launch it from your home screen like any other app.
What you get: the complete 1xBet platform, including sportsbook, live betting, casino, streaming, and the cashier, in a full-screen layout that updates automatically because it is the live site.
What you give up:
- No Face ID or Touch ID login. Biometric sign-in is part of the native app. The PWA sends you back to the password screen.
- Browser video player. Streams run through Safari rather than a native player, and in our sessions that meant more buffering on the same connection.
- iOS clears web storage aggressively. Leave it unopened a while and expect to be logged out.
- More data per session, since assets a native app would cache locally get fetched again.
For an iPhone user in Malaysia, this is the realistic option, and it's a lot better than nothing. We'd rather set that expectation than pretend a PWA is the same as the app.
1xWin: The 1xBet Windows App
1xBet also publishes a desktop client called 1xWin. It's a standard Windows program, an installer you run rather than an APK, and it's built for speed on pre-match and live betting rather than for browsing.
How to install 1xWin:
- Open the official 1xBet site and click the desktop app icon in the top-left.
- On the download page, press the blue Download button.
- Run the file once it finishes downloading.
- Follow the installer, pick a location, and click through.
- Launch it and log in with your existing 1xBet credentials.
If you follow live markets from a computer, it's a noticeably better experience than a browser tab. One correction to an earlier version of this page: 1xWin is a Windows executable rather than an Android package, and Windows Phone hasn't been supported by anyone since 2020.
The Sportsbook in the 1xBet App
This is what the app is for, and it's where the depth shows.
The sports menu inside the app, with live event counts against each discipline. Football sat at 1,666 events when we captured this, and table tennis at 810.

Table tennis at 810 events is the number that stands out, and it's not an accident. Table tennis runs almost continuously across Asian and European circuits, which makes it the sport most likely to have something live at 4 am. If you bet at odd hours, it matters more than the football figure.
The A to Z list runs well past what's shown here, and the search box at the top is faster than scrolling once you know what you want.
Markets on a Single Fixture

We opened Arsenal against Coventry City to see how a single fixture is handled on a phone screen.
The markets are grouped rather than dumped in a list: Regular time, 1st half, 2nd half, Corners and Corners 1st half each get their own tab. Within Regular time, you get 1X2 at 1.196 / 7.95 / 18.5, then 1X2 (2UP), which pays early if your team goes two clear, followed by Double Chance, Both Teams To Score, and combination markets like 1X2 + Each Team To Score.
The search-by-market box is the part worth knowing about. On a fixture with hundreds of markets, typing "corner" or "card" is considerably faster than working down the list, and it's a feature most competing apps skip.
The Bet Builder tab sits at the bottom, next to List of markets, where custom bet construction happens.
Esports in the 1xBet App
The esports section in the app. League of Legends carried 82 events when we looked, CS2 46, and Mobile Legends 15.
Esports gets its own section rather than being buried under Other Sports, and the coverage is broader than most.
What was running when we checked: League of Legends (82), CS 2 (46), Valorant (21), Honor of Kings (16), Mobile Legends (15), Dota 2 (14), Rocket League (8), Rainbow Six Esports World Cup (4), PUBG (2), plus outright markets on The Game Awards 2026 and the Crossfire Esports World Cup winner.
The presence of Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings matters for a Malaysian audience. Both are heavily played across Southeast Asia, and both get skipped by operators that build their esports offering for European markets. Their inclusion is a reasonable sign that the section is regionally curated rather than translated.

The casino is a full section rather than a link back to the website, and the mobile lobby is easier to work through than the desktop one.

1xBet runs its own live studio under the 1XLIVE brand, which is unusual for an operator at this level. The tables we found included 1X Velvet Blackjack, 1X Velvet Blackjack VIP, 1X Velvet Blackjack 2, and 1X Velvet Roulette VIP, with third-party tables from Jacktop, Winfinity, and ElCasino sitting alongside them.

One detail we'd flag as a huge advantage: the table limits display in ringgit. 1X Velvet Blackjack showed RM 25 to 10,000. That sounds minor until you've used an operator that displays limits in euros while your balance sits in MYR, which is a conversion you end up doing in your head at the table. Several competitors we've tested do exactly that.
The table interface holds up on a phone. Chip values, the double button, and the round timer all sit within thumb reach, and the dealer feed ran without buffering on 5G.
Depositing in the 1xBet App
The cashier is where the app's Malaysian localization shows most clearly.

If you're using stablecoins, having the network choice matters. Tether on Tron incurs a fraction of the transaction fees that Tether on Ethereum does, and both end up in the same balance.
One observation on the deposit page. There's a notice in Malay linking to a Telegram channel for local payment agents. Agent networks are common in this market, but they sit outside the operator's own cashier, and we'd use the in-app methods rather than a third party regardless of how it's presented.
1xBet App vs the Website
We ran both across the same account over the same period. The app wins on speed and layout. The website wins on one thing the app really can't do.
The desktop sportsbook carries an enormous number of markets, and the density is real. The app compresses the same content into something you can work with a thumb.
Where the website still beats the app: multitasking. You can open several tabs and compare markets across fixtures side by side. The app handles one match and one bet slip at a time. If you work across three games at once, that's a real limitation rather than a nitpick, and it's the reason we still open the site for research even after months with the app.

1xBet App Features: What's Worth Using
The app packs in more tools than any competitor we've tested for this market. That's its defining quality and, depending on your temperament, its one drawback. There is a lot on screen.
The Features We Keep Coming Back To
Multi-LIVE streaming. Four HD broadcasts on one screen at once. Across a Saturday of football, this alone justifies the app, and we haven't found it anywhere else in Malaysia. Access requires either a funded balance or an active bet on the match, so it isn't free viewing, but if you have an account, it's a remarkable thing to have on a phone.
Bet constructor. Build custom bets by combining outcomes inside a single match. More flexible than the fixed bet-builder menus most apps ship with, and it's where the app's depth really shows.
One-click betting. Set a favorite stake, then place a bet by tapping the odds once, with no slip and no confirmation. Useful during live play, and worth understanding as a double-edged tool: removing the confirmation step also removes the moment when you'd normally reconsider. We keep it switched off outside live sessions.
Cash-out and edit bet. Cash out before a match finishes to lock in a return or cut a loss. Edit bet is the rarer option, letting you add or swap selections on a slip that's already been placed, which very few operators allow.
Stats and head-to-head. Form, H2H records and win-probability figures sit directly on the match page, so research doesn't mean leaving the app.
Picture-in-picture streaming. This is what the "display over other apps" permission enables. A live stream floats over whatever else you're doing on the phone, which is useful when you're following one match while checking markets on another.
Biometric login. Fingerprint on Android. Beyond the few seconds saved, it breaks the habit of typing credentials into whatever page happens to be open, which matters more than it sounds on a platform with this many lookalike domains.
The AI Alert System: Clever and Worth Understanding
1xBet describes an alert system that goes past ordinary push notifications. Rather than telling you a goal went in, it's described as reading your betting patterns alongside the live match flow, then prompting you when a team you often back hits a high-pressure phase, such as a red card or a sustained attack, with a suggested live bet that reflects the shifting odds.
Technically, it's impressive, and if you bet in-play, it will surface situations you'd otherwise scroll past.
It's also worth reading that description plainly. The app learns how you bet, then prompts you at the moments you're most likely to act quickly. Those are the same features described two ways. We're not telling you to avoid it, because we use it, but no other page covering this app seems willing to name what it is.
In practice: leave the alerts off during any session where you're chasing a loss, and turn them off entirely if you notice you're opening the app because it pinged rather than because you decided to. The toggle is in settings, and knowing where it lives matters more than knowing how it works.

1xBet's Licensing: What We Asked
Briefly, because this is an app review and our full 1xBet review covers licensing and operator background properly. But it belongs here because you're installing software from outside an app store.
We couldn't find a license number anywhere on 1xBet's site, so we asked support directly on 9 August 2026.
Our support exchange. The agent confirmed the company is licensed under Curaçao law but couldn't provide the number, saying the specialists are updating the Terms of Service.
The agent confirmed that the platform and terms are governed by Curaçao law and that the company is licensed, then acknowledged that the specific detail isn't currently findable and said the responsible team is updating it. They were straightforward rather than evasive about not having it.
The context. Curaçao replaced its entire licensing framework in December 2024. The old system of private master-license holders was dismantled, and every sub-license expired, with operators required to apply directly to the new Curaçao Gaming Authority. Stale or missing license text is a common symptom of that transition, and the old numbers still circulating on third-party sites reference the retired system, which is why we haven't quoted one.
